City Pad
This one-bedroom apartment in Sydney's iconic Observatory Tower was the perfect base for our Canberra-based clients’ city visits – yet its dated interiors lacked charm and functionality. They sought to transform it into a luxurious retreat with the elegance and ease of a five-star hotel, effortlessly adapting to suit both solo stays and family trips.
At just 60 square metres, every detail was meticulously considered. Removing a wall between the kitchen and living area opened up the space, while custom joinery throughout added tailored sophistication. The monochromatic palette – black engineered timber floors and crisp white tiles – sets a dramatic backdrop, softened by Venetian-plastered walls, furniture in rich, earth tones and contemporary art.
Smart space-saving solutions, including a concealed Murphy bed and a versatile dining table on castors, allow the apartment to accommodate varying numbers with ease. A revamped kitchen with a terrazzo island and Tasmanian oak cladding is both a statement piece and a practical hub for gathering and dining, while the reimagined bathroom with its bold tiles and double-sink vanity streamlines morning routines. For our clients, the apartment is now not just a stopover – it’s an elevated escape.
